If you are bringing your pet directly to us, we ask that you call ahead and book an appointment, so we know to expect you and have a member of our team available to discuss your wishes.
The crematorium itself is a working area and not open to the public. Viewing of this area is possible but is purely based on time/day/staff availability and by prior appointment.
If your pet sadly passes at home, we recommend you to put them in a cool location and to use a cardboard box, towel, or blanket instead of anything plastic.
We encourage pet owners to come to our premises directly and spend some time saying goodbye in our own Chapel of Rest; alternatively, we can arrange to pick up your pet from your house or veterinarian office.
Our phone line is open 24 hours 7 days a week Monday – Sunday. Please simply call us on 07775 743531 to book an appointment to come direct or to request a collection from your home address or veterinary practice.
If your pet passes late at night, please keep them cool and ideally wrapped in a blanket. Call us in the morning to arrange for a collection or to bring your pet to us directly.
Indeed. We are able to pick up your pet from either your house or your preferred vet.
Depending on the travel time and distance to and from the collection location, a collection fee will be charged. This collection fee is due because, upon your request, we will come to your home or veterinarian. We will return your pet’s ashes by hand, and the visit will take place that same working day. Some cremation businesses may only perform a weekly or fortnightly pickup, therefore they may not charge at all.
From our base in Essex we cover London, Suffolk, Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Kent, working with vets and making collections from home.
We would be pleased to provide you with a collection fee; please call us on 07775 743531 for more information about this service.
Alternatively, you are welcome to come directly to us with your cherished pet and say goodbye in our exquisite Chapel of Rest.
The cost of your pet’s cremation will depend on their weight, as larger animals naturally require more resources and time for the process. To provide you with the most accurate quote, it would be best if you could give a call to us on 07775 743531 so we can confirm your pet’s size and discuss the options we offer.
While the cremation itself might incur a fee, we are happy to let you know that we provide scatter tubes absolutely free of charge. If you prefer, we also have a lovely selection of caskets and urns available for purchase, ranging in price and style.
Ultimately, the choice is yours, and we strive to offer every client a dignified and personalized experience for their beloved pet. Please don’t hesitate to call us so we can help you determine the best option and provide you with an accurate quote.
We understand how difficult this time can be, and we’re here to support you in any way we can.
Once your pet has safely arrived at Purrfect Peace, we will confirm with you to discuss your preferences and confirm any requests and all fees. This can be done before to collection, or if your veterinarian has already asked us to collect.
Your pet will be placed in a cool area, given enough room, and given a clear identification upon arrival. The information on your pet will be added to our database, and a file will be generated.
After confirmation, we will take care of any requests [fur clippings, paw prints, etc.] and prepare for the cremation of your pet.
Following the cremation, we will meticulously prepare your pet’s ashes into the urn of your choice. These can then be picked up from Purrfect Peace or personally returned to your licenced veterinarian office. We also do offer a special next day postal service if this would be more convenient.
In most cases, the full process will be finished within 1 – 2 days. We’ll do our best to notify you as soon as possible if any urns or other things are out of stock and will work quickly to finish our service.
For owners who would prefer a quicker turnaround, we do provide ‘Same Day Service’.
This service is totally free of charge but will depend on the day.
Depending on your pet’s breed and size, the actual cremation procedure may take one to four hours. Allowing for any extra time required to complete extra requests, like paw prints, fur clippings, or clay prints — we typically ask that you bring your pet to us by 11am that day, and the ashes will be available for pickup by 5pm.
Our operations are based out of a functioning farm, along with numerous other animal-related businesses. It is inappropriate for the general people to be in certain locations due to the use of tractors, forklifts, HGVs.
Nonetheless, we do urge pet owners to use our Chapels of Rest. You can bring your pet to us directly to say goodbye, or we can make arrangements to pick them up from your licenced veterinarian clinic so you can visit and spend some time with them here.
Appointments to tour the crematorium can be scheduled, but this is totally based on staff availability and our cremation schedule.
Only individual cremations for household pets are provided by Purrfect Peace.
The stringent Code of Practice established by the Association of Private Pet Cemeteries and Crematoria (APPCC) governs our individual cremations and calls for a professional, courteous and compassionate service.
The cremation chamber is designed to ensure that the ashes you receive back are only those of your pet. Your pet will be cremated alone in this chamber, which is carefully cleaned of any ashes following your pet’s service.
We will go over every expense with you when we discuss the process. You only pay Purrfect Peace directly for our services because we are not affiliated with your registered veterinarian office in any way.
The price will change based on a number of factors, including the location from whence we pick up your pet, its weight and size, the urn you select, and whether you have any extras like jewellery or paw prints. You will receive an explanation of the costs along with your receipt.
Please be aware that we do require full payment prior to the cremation process; We do not currently provide any payment plans.
Every one of our urns is shown on our website on our ‘Casket and Urns’ page with prices displayed. We also can arrange for the Name of your pet and message to be engraved on a plaque for our caskets. So please feel free to call us if you have any questions.
Ideally, since we are a small, family-run business, we do ask that you try to schedule an appointment in order to keep each pet owner’s visit as quiet and private as possible.
We really want to make your experience with us as pleasant as possible at such a difficult moment, therefore even if you are enroute to us from your vet or home, a quick call to let us know you are coming is sufficient.
Following a member of our staff has greeted you, we ask that you kindly leave your pet in your car. After that, you can spend some time saying your goodbyes in our Chapel of Rest.
We usually set aside 30 minutes for you to say goodbye and for us to talk about your wishes; if you would want to spend much longer, please let us know so we may schedule a longer appointment; if not, you might feel better spending time at home before visiting us.
As always, we value any input, no matter how constructive or good.
If you are dissatisfied with any part of the service, send a written complaint to enquiries@purrfectpeace.co.uk. You will hear back from us within 7 working days, giving us time to look into the situation.
